Blake Lively a candidate for the upcoming Green Lantern movie

blake-livelyThe 22-year-old star of Gossip Girl Blake Lively, is rumored to be one of the five actresses up for the love interest of Hal Joran (who is played by Ryan Reynolds) in the upcoming Green Lantern movie.This year, Blake has been in two movies. She had a small role in “New York, I Love You.” She also stared in “The Private Lives of Pippa Lee.” She is also one of the main characters in the popular show teen drama TV show Gossip Girl which is currently in its third season.

Blake Lively is being considered for the role of the 27-year-old Carol Ferris, Hal Jordan/Green Lantern love interest. In the comic books, Carol Ferris is the daughter of an aerospace mogul, Carl Ferris. She works for her father’s company, Ferris Air, she has an MBA, and a lifelong crush on Hal Jordan.

There are four other actresses being considered for the role: Jennifer Garner, Keri Russell, Diane Kruger, and Eva Green. Carol Ferris

For those of you who don’t know what the movie is about, here is the scoop. The Green Lantern was orginally a comic book series and like many successful comics, it is being turned into a movie. The plot revolves around Hal Jordan, who was an ordinary man until a dying alien, Abin Sur, chooses Hal to receive a green energy-powered ring used to protect the universe. The ring gives him great powers and he gains membership into an intergalactic team charged with keeping the peace within the universe.

The only cast that has been confirmed is Ryan Reynolds, everything else is just rumors. Filming is set to begin in 2010 and the movie will probably be released June 17, 2011.
