Most Effective Face Masks

Have troublesome skin? Well, even if you don’t, you should do a face mask at least once a month. Face masks get into the pores and remove gunk, or shrink pores for a more even skin tone. Different face masks are geared for different things, but these are our favorites.

The one most women see immediate improvements with is the Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque. For less than $7, women notice pore shrinkage after just one use. Continual use gives skin an even tone and healthy glow! A lot of women like this particular mask because the skin tingles when applied. Instructions say to apply heavily and evenly across face; let dry (usually 15 minutes, but can take longer if applied very thickly) and then use a face wash cloth to remove. Warm water works best.

The next face mask we use is a natural, gentle face mask: Alba Botanica Deep Sea Facial Mask. It has a clay-like, smooth texture but doesn’t irritate skin (unless you’re allergic; please always look at ingredients!). One reviewer says:

This is a very nice facial mask. I selected it especially because it has Vitamin C, which is an excellent antioxidant for the skin. This mask looks like a clay mask, but the texture is very refined and smooth- not gritty at all. Plus, it smells wonderful. It leaves my skin feeling very soft and refreshed, and this mask doesn’t get tight or crack like other facial masks. I don’t think it has quite the deep pore cleansing effect that some other masks have. It seems to be a gentle mask, best suited for soothing skin after a good exfoliation. Personally, I prefer this mask to many of the other clay masks out there for its gentle, softening ingredients and luxurious texture. I plan to try the cleanser and scrub next.

If you’re looking for a peeling mask, the best one we’ve found is Freeman’s Facial Peel-Off Mask Cucumber, which supposedly clarifies and renews skin. Apply evenly across your face, let it dry, and then peel away! You’ll notice the gunk being removed instantly, but the cucumber ingredient will leave skin silky smooth.
