How to: Spring Makeup Looks

Spring is just around the corner, and this season, color-blocked clothing is back. That means solid, bright colors, and your makeup needs to compliment it.
For Spring, I always suggest going easy on makeup, since the weather is always a hit or miss. Make sure that you are only trying to highlight
one of your features, not all of them, because that will make you look cluttered and overdone.
I always try to perk up my eyes, but if you’re the kind of gal who likes to emphasize her lips, here’s the Spring trend for you.
Choose a pink-based color for a lip tone. Avoid glosses and stick to matte shades. Exfoliate lips (toothbrush bristles or grainy formulas) and then apply an even amount of the pink tone. You can add some chapstick if lips get dry, but avoid glossy.
Face makeup should appear natural. Foundation must be light and let the blush barely appear to be there.
Now, onto my favorite: eyes. This season, choose a bright color that flatters your skin, hair, and eyes. Try out pinks, roses, or golds, but matte shades seem to be in fashion at the moment.
Now, instead of doing a contoured smoky eye as we prefer to do, just apply a solid color to the bottom of your eye, and a different color to the top lid. Skip eyeliner (if you really need it, just dab a brush in dry powder and swipe on eyelash crease so it’s subtle) and apply some mascara. Voila!
We say skip eyeliner, because Spring is about fun and easy going. The dramatic effect of eyeliner can make you appear to serious and overdone.
But, if you want to skip eyeshadow and do eyeliner, choose bright colors! Find a complimentary color to your eyes, but don’t match it with your clothes (stick in same color group if you must, but don’t use the same exact hues; too matchy-matchy).
Now, go have fun!
