Favorite Hair Straightening Irons

When it comes to a straightening iron for your hair, it’s best not to skimp. Straight irons should always be ceramic, since the ceramic plates distribute heat equally across the length of the wand.
When there is a number at the end of a straight iron’s description, it refers to the width of the plate. The thicker the plate, the more hair it can cover in one swipe.
In the straight iron world, CHI is usually the most reknown. I’ve had a CHI, and it lasted me about a year; but for the last six months, the heat consistency was unreliable. It was difficult to keep it hot, since it would turn off by itself; quite frustrating.
Since then, I’ve experimented with a few other straighteners in different price ranges.
The cheapest is by BaByliss, which is a 1.5 inch Porcelain Ceramic straight iron with a removable comb. The comb part is pretty nifty, since it allows you to get close to your scalp without burning the skin. NOt bad option; it also reaches 420 Fahrenheit, great for the price. At $29.99, this is a phenomenal option for girls on a budget.
Next up is HSI Ceramic Tourmaline Ionic Flat Iron, which is a 1 inch plated iron. It includes a 4ml bottle of Argain Oil Leave In Hair Treatment (to make hair soft and shiny) and can reach 410 degrees Fahrenheit. It’s a great price at $45 dollars.
Lastly is my favorite iron, the one I use every day. It’s a Professional Str8 1.25 inch Titanium Infused Ceramic Flat Iron by Rusk. Rusk is a company that professional hair stylists use; the irons are normally double the price as we’ve been finding online recently. While this straight iron has a sci-fi cheap look (glittery silver), I have to love how quick this thing heats up as well as the sturdy plate and long cord. Makes hair super shiny and beautiful.
So take your pick, ladies!
