According to sonyps4.com, Sony is currently rethinking the Playstation 4 hardware design. Sony has officially announced the fact that they are planning a PS4 to be released sometime in the future. There have been rumors for years about the possible release of the PS4. The soonest that the PS4 will be released is in 2012.
The PS4 was designed using a cell processor and although there are many advantages to the cell processor, it also has a distinct disadvantage. Many third party developers are having problems creating games designed for the processor. Sony is looking to become more developer friendly with the release of the PS4.
So what will the PS4 use? Most likely it will use a multi-core processor found in many computers because of its high processing power and its ease of use. As of right now, it is all just a rumor. In reality, Sony could go with anything and could even use a cell processor like the PS3 does. And we won’t know for sure until Sony announces it officially.
