How to Snag a Second Date

4 September 2009 by Katherine | | No Comment

HuggingAre you the single girl that hardly ever gets asked on second dates? Or do you feel horribly awkward on your first date. If so, here are some tips to help that first date go well.

The best tip that will have him begging for a second date is to own the awkwardness. Embarrassing moments are, embarrassing. Besides that, they are a great way for a guy to get to know the real you. If a girl freaks out when she comes across an awkward moment, she might not be the type of girl he will call up on a second date. Think of embarrassing moments as a way to show off your sparkling wit and humor. If you laugh at yourself he will see that you are comfortable with yourself and will definitely ask for a second date.

The second great tip is that when you are out with him, tell him a secret. Obviously you shouldn’t tell him how much you’ve been lusting after a certain celebrity, or that you cheated on all of your boyfriends. Instead it should be something safe and fun–like you are absolutely scared to death of go carts. When you reveal something harmless about yourself it can help to establish a connection between you and your date. Even if everyone knows this littlHolding Handse secret that you have about yourself, it can still help to endear you to him. He will want to be your hero, and he will know how to.

If you are on a date, ask him questions about his life. Most guys assume that women like talking about themselves, so when you ask him questions about his life, his career ambitions or his family, he is genuinely surprised (in a good way). It shows that you are interesting in HIM and not just his wallet. It also reassures him that you can hold your own in a conversation.

Wondering what else you can do to impress him? At the end of the night when you are saying goodbye, bring up date number two. It lets him know that you are interested. Say something like, “Since you got to pick the restaurant tonight, next time its my choice.” Or if while you are talking the subject of movies comes up, you can say “I’ve been dying to see that movie, but all of my friends went to see it without me.” It lets him know what you want to do, so he should be able to figgure out that you want to do it with him.

With any luck you will be able to snag a second date.
