Whip It! is about finding your own inner strength and being your own hero. It is a movie that makes you truly believe that you can do anything that you want. Whip It! is Drew Barrymore’s directorial debut (even though she has been an actor since she was a cute 4 year old girl) and is due out in movie theaters on October 2, 2009. It is rated PG-13 for sexual content including crude dialogue, language and drug material.

The Cast of Whip It

In Whip it, Bliss Cavender (played by Ellen Page) is pretty young girl who is being pushed into beauty pageants by her mother (played by Marcia Gay Harden). She leaves beauty crowns behind when she joins a local roller derby team. When skating, Bliss shows real courage, moxie, and passion that she would never have found winning a crown at a beauty pageant.

This movie has already won over many movie reviewers and the preview alone makes it a winner for me. I can’t wait to watch it on October 2, 2009. And if Ellen Page matches her performance in Juno, it will truly make this movie one to watch.
