How to create wavy hair without heat

Last week I wrote an article about how to get soft waves like Audrian Patridge new hairstyle. I told you how to get soft waves like her using a curling iron, but using any kind of heat to style your hair can be damaging and it is best to give your hair a little time off. If you want beautiful hair, you should avoid using heat to style it while you can. Creating wavy hair without using heat is actually really easy, just follow these steps.

  1. Your hair should be slightly damp when you start. You can either use

mouse or gel, but even if you don’t use any styling products, the waves will still stay. I have noticed that when I use GARNIER FRUCTIS Leave-in Conditioning Cream curl shine after I get out of the shower, my hair is wavier.

  2. Divide your hair into four sections. First, part your hair down the middle as if you were creating pigtails, and then divide those two sections in half horizontally.
  3. Take the right top sections of your hair and twist it, then twirl it into a bun on the side of your head. Secure it with a bobby pin or a hair tie. (I like using bobby pins because it doesn’t leave a dent like a hair tie tends to).
  4. Now take the right bottom section and twist it and then twirl it around the first bun. Secure with either a bobby pin or a hair tie. Doing it in two separate sections like this means that the bottom section will have looser waves.
  5. Repeat this process on the left sections.
  6. Now all you have to do is wait. If you wash your hair at night, you will have perfect waves by morning, but if you are like me and take a shower in the morning, it usually takes about a half hour to an hour to dry completely.
  7. Once your hair is dry, take out the buns and brush out the curls. Then spray it with some hairspray and you are done.
  8. Some days the waves just don’t come out right, if that happens, you can wear your hair half up, in a messy bun, or in a high ponytail. If you still want to wear your hair down, you can throw on a head band, or you can use a curling iron to fix the areas that don’t look right.
