Healthy Eating on the Go–PB and Apple Sandwich

Alright, I don’t know about you, but I am constantly on the go. And I am a college student. Spending so much time on campus, and driving to work, driving home, doing this, and doing that I sometimes forget to eat. Or if I can’t think of something good to eat, I will just go to a vending machine and grab a bag of chips (even though I know I will be hungry again in about an hour. So, instead of snacking all day on chips, I will bring lunch. But, after eating the same thing every day, it starts to get boring! So, I have started to experiment with my lunches and here is one sandwich that you will love!

The Peanut Butter and Apple Sandwich is a spin on the classic peanut and butter sandwich, and a really good one. You know how good it tastes to dip a sliced apple into peanut butter? Well imagine all that goodness wrapped up in a sandwich!

A Healthy Snack that can be enjoyed any time

Ingredients:

  • 2 slices whole wheat bread
  • 1-2 tablespoon peanut butter (to taste)
  • 1 small apple

Directions

  1. Peel the apple and then shred the apple using a cheese grater
  2. Spread a thin layer of peanut butter onto one side of each slice of bread.
  3. Place shredded apple onto the peanut butter, and place the other peanut buttered side of bread on top. And you are good to go.
