The Last Season of Dollhouse

When Joss Whedon announced he was creating a brand new show for Fox, the world held high expectations. After all, he did create the seven-season hit Buffy the Vampire Slayer, as well as Firefly, and Angel. But no one could have expected what Dollhouse actually was.

dollhouse wallpaper 8 eliza dushku echoDollhouse stars Eliza Dushku (Faith from Buffy) as well as other famous actors: Miracle Laurie, Amy Acker, Summer Glau, and many more. There are always new characters in every episode, but the actual premise of the show involves constantly fluxing environments.

So the idea behind the Dollhouse is that Echo (Dushku) is a Doll: she’s a person whose personality has been stored onto a computer, and she can be programmed with any personality anyone wishes – sex slave, wife, serial killer; she’s been it all. It doesn’t just affect their memories, but physical memories (like karate), language, and anything imaginable. And Echo is the number 1 Doll.

But Echo keeps glitching – she sees things that don’t belong in the life she knows, because pieces of her other personalities (dubbed Actives) keep flashing like a broken strobe light. In Season 1, it was recognized that her real name was Caroline Farrell, and she was a college student/political activist.

In Season 2, the Dollhouse was cancelled, so that after the finale there will be no more episodes. This means that this show is getting hotter, more dangerous, and wickedly entertaining, because there aren’t any more limitations on the show – they need to go out with a bang. In the Season 1 Finale, Epitaph One, the bang was that Japan took control of the Doll technology and wiped the entire world, creating a mass of soldiers rather than individuals. And with the clues being dropped in Season 2, there is obviously going to be something dangerous and unforgettable.

You can watch this hit show at Watch Dollhouse Episodes for free. Season 2 is currently on episode 10, The Attic, which I’ve already re-watched twice: it is that good right now. Hopefully the ratings pick up (from 1.7 million) so that another network takes over or FOX renews for a third season.

Episode 11 will air on January 9, 2010, with the Season 2 and Series Finale airing on January 22, 2010. Don’t miss this show; Fox will probably regret the decision to cancel once they see how edgy Joss Whedon has developed Dollhouse into. It’s unique; there’s always something new; and intrigue, backstabbing, ulterior motives, death, murder…well, it’s all the same at the Dollhouse.
